Came here to say the exact same thing. Except I came in to say that it doesn't work in Firefox either.
Please have a look at the latest release (v1.12). It should fix these issues.
Hi! I ended up using a different script to fix the problem, but it seems another youtube change happened today that broke that script. The latest release of your script doesn't appear to work here, either.
(Also I realized I didn't provide my information last time: I'm using Chrome 36.0.1985.125 m and Tampermonkey 3.8.52 )

Player size no longer functions?
In Chrome at the very least, the option to change the player size doesn't function. No matter what is selected, the player is always the 480p size player. The theater mode update is probably to blame.
