This script has been working great for a long time. But recently, This night as a matter of fact, It seems to not be working correctly, Sometimes the custom names aren't being loaded in properly, And as someone who hates handles being used in the comments, I feel this is worth speaking out about. I do hope this gets fixed.

No this isn't on the awful A/B testing layout.

I think I know the problem. The comments section uses a new CSS class for rendering. A simple change to find .ytd-comment-view-model instead of .ytd-comment-renderer will fix it.

Upon looking at the code, it seems that they tried to accomodate the new classes, but not very well. Let's hope they fix it.

Updated. Adopted recent yt update of ytd-comment-view-model

ytd-comment-view-model is introduced in 2024. This is still under A/B testing and the design for ytd-comment-view-model is updating.
