Technically I have switched to my HTML5 Spotify script, which apart from removing the Flash requirement has the 'indirect' consequence of not playing ads. The thing is that the boys at Spotify have recently upgraded the song encryption method and workarounding this is a bit of a chore.
So that script works if you want to open the play.spotify.com without plugins, but songs won't work, at least for the time being. I haven't received a Spotify ad in years. I don't know why.
