how can a website detect the presence of a script?

i can think of one or more way to detect a bypass script.
the easyest way is just see how long this person takes time to solve the shortlink,
if this person is solving the link only in 10 seconds or less then it is very obvious that this person using a baypas code, right?

I saw this once and I don't remember which site it was on.I figured you might know what the reason is.

he is kinda moody lately, because alot of user's questioning hes decision to not support some shotlink anymore.

also when you find those kind of situation, you need to save the link and post it here,
so the script owner can check and do the fixing, and you just need to wait the update.
