I think I found a new method that does the job:

const removeAdsNew = () => {
let list = document.querySelectorAll(`[aria-label="Sponsored"]`);

for (let el of list) {
let story = el.closest('[data-pagelet]');
story.remove();
}
}

then I use it with
const throttleKill = throttle(removeAdsNew, 50);

and that seems to work so far
