This script has been set to private as I am convinced the goal that was set out for this script is impossible. This script has not been deleted as I want to keep this page for archiving purposes.

This script attempts to toggle the Stable Volume (DRC) option on YouTube videos dynamically. Turning the option on speakers for clarity, and turning it off on headphones for more natural sounding audio.

Few things to note:

  • This script is still in testing and will often detect audio device types incorrectly.
  • This script does not do anything if the video lacks DRC options in the first place.
  • This script does not work on mobile sites as mobile sites require more security, meaning audio device types cannot be detected by default.

Known issues:

  • The script seems to cause UI lag/unresponsiveness on very rare occasions. Video playback generally unaffected. [Reason unknown. Unable to reproduce issue consistently. More testing required. Feedback welcome.]
