Auto-hide video controls almost instantly / really quickly for the Twitch desktop and mobile site

Auto-hides video controls for the Twitch desktop and mobile site after half a second (500 ms) of mouse inactivity over the video player area. Unhide the controls as you would usually do on Twitch.

In the "Before" demo you can see it takes about 4-5 seconds for the video controls to get hidden, while for the "After" demo it only takes half a second, almost instantly.

UPDATE 2025/03/31

  • fix the mobile site for live streams
  • fix switching between normal mode and theatre mode for desktop site
  • fix mouse cursor still showing in certain scenarios for desktop site
  • add option to show the gui in fullscreen when using keyboard controls
