Improve handling of plugin load/remove

This won't log ": remove" when the plugin hasn't been previously loaded.

Refactor a function with too many inline functions

The flow of handlePageChange reads much better like this. The previous version was confusing!!

This works for both test pages related to an exam [^1] and those for re-taking your error questions [^2].
