Overview

The YouTube Timestamp Tool by Vat5aL is a user-friendly Tampermonkey script that enhances your YouTube experience by allowing you to create, manage, and navigate timestamps in videos. It’s perfect for content creators, moderators, or viewers who want to mark and jump to specific moments in a video with ease.

Features

1. Create Timestamps Easily

  • Add TS: Click "Add TS" to mark the current video time (minus 2 seconds) as a start timestamp.
  • Set End Time: Click the "End" button next to a timestamp to add an end time, creating a range (e.g., 7:58 - 8:30).
  • Comment Support: Add a comment to each timestamp in a text field below it (e.g., "Reacting on..").

2. Import Timestamps

  • Paste a list of timestamps into the textarea and click "Import List" to add them all at once.
  • Supports two formats:
    • Copied Format: 1:56:35 - 1:56:42 "Crazy Clutch " (with hours, minutes, seconds, and a comment).
    • Original Format: 7:58-8:30 followed by a comment on the next line (e.g., 7:58-8:30\nReacting on..).

3. Navigate with Seekbar Markers

  • Red Markers: Show start times on the YouTube seekbar.
  • Green Markers: Indicate end times.
  • Yellow Bars: Highlight the range between start and end times, with a tooltip showing the comment on hover.
  • Click any marker to jump to that time in the video.

4. Manage Timestamps

  • Adjust Time: Use ➖ and ➕ buttons to tweak the start time by ±1 second.
  • Delete: Click the 🗑️ button to remove a timestamp.
  • Clear All: Click "Clear" to remove all timestamps at once.
  • Copy Timestamps: Click "Copy List" to copy all timestamps in the format startTime - endTime "comment". Click again to copy direct links instead.
  • Scroll Support: If you add more than two timestamps, a scrollbar appears to keep the list manageable.

5. User-Friendly Interface

  • A compact pane appears in the bottom-right corner of YouTube videos.
  • Minimize: Click the ▶️ button to collapse the pane into a small icon.
  • Close: Click the × button to remove the tool (with a confirmation prompt).
  • Current Time Display: Shows the video’s current time (e.g., CT: 2:12:02) at the top.

How to Use

  1. Install Tampermonkey in your browser.
  2. Add the script via the download link.
  3. Open any YouTube video.
  4. Use the pane to add, import, or manage timestamps, and navigate using the seekbar markers.

Notes

  • The tool automatically updates the seekbar markers as you add or edit timestamps.
  • It supports timestamps in MM:SS or H:MM:SS formats.
  • Built for simplicity and ease of use, with a focus on content creators and viewers.
