X Timeline Sync is a userscript designed to enhance your browsing experience on Twitter/X. It allows you to track and synchronize your last reading position, ensuring that you never lose your place while exploring new posts.

How It Works

Once installed via a userscript manager like Tampermonkey, the script initializes when you visit the Twitter/X homepage (https://x.com/home). It observes your scrolling and interacts with the webpage to track the following:

  • Last Read Post: Monitors the central visible post and saves its timestamp and author handle.
  • New Posts Indicator: Detects and clicks the "new posts" indicator when available.
  • Search for Last Position: Searches for your last read post and navigates to it.

Key Functionalities

The script adds a control panel with buttons for key actions:

  • 💾 Export: Saves your last read position to a JSON file.
  • 📂 Import: Restores a saved reading position from a file.
  • 🔍 Search: Manually triggers a search for the last read post.
