This script automatically checks for suffix abbreviations as you edit a segment's street name in the Waze Map Editor. Based on what is entered, it will verify or make suggestions based on Australian mapping standards.

Note: This script is an assistive tool designed with ease of use in mind, it should be used alongside knowledge found in Wazeopedia. It primarily verifies and suggests suffixes by examining the last part of the entered street name, comparing with approved suffix abbreviations and AS/NZS 4819:2011. Therefore, it is limited in the scope of issues and suffixes it can detect; for instance, it will only detect the final occurrence of “Road” in “Main Road Service Road”.
