This is a content filter that will hide all annoying content in the Nextdoor News Feed and add an instant "Hide" button to all posts that are shown. Customize with enable-flags and undesirable title phrases. It seems like about 99% of the content on Nextdoor is garbage but that 1% of useful posts are worth digging through all the junk. This script helps improve the ratio of gold to garbage.
The default settings for the script will hide the following items when viewing the main Nextdoor news feed:
- paid/sponsored ads, including video ads
- new neighbor joins
- classified ads that are not free
- Anything posted by "The San Diego Union-Tribune" since you need to subscribe to read the articles
- posts tagged as: dogs, cats, yoga, animal adoption
- posts related to lost/found dogs or cats, handymen, plumbers, roommates
Be sure to edit the configurations in the "Storage" tab of this script after visiting nextdoor.com at least once with the script enabled.
