This script removes blacklisted articles (e.g., anything about a Kardashian) from Google News so you never have to see them again. The script compares the title text of each article to the items in the user-maintained blacklist and removes the title's container div if it finds a match. It also displays statistics info in the upper right corner of the page to tell you how many stories were removed; click it to toggle a list of matched blacklist terms (click anywhere on the page to hide the list). Disable the script and reload the page to see all the stories. The script searches both the main news area and the spotlight sidebar, as well as the "related articles" that are hidden until you click in a story. It does not search the article excerpt text, so if a blacklist term appears there but not in the title, the article will not be removed. Note that this script does not (and cannot) replace removed articles with new ones, so if you have a lot of blacklist terms, it's possible that some sections of Google News will appear empty from time to time. As a bonus, you can also filter stories by source. Disclaimer: it is recommended that you use this script wisely to avoid shutting yourself in a "filter bubble": it's important to hear all sides of the news, not just the side you agree with.
