True, I never noticed that, because I use the RES player and you can disable the auto-play in RES...
I have updated the userscript (v2.5), and added a new option (line 25, manageVideoPlayback), which when set to true will automatically pause the videos. If you find any bugs, report them and I'll try to fix them!

Sometimes some v.redd.it videos starts playing. One video stopped at first second. Sometimes when I scroll with "Reddit Infinite Scrolling" script, videos I see when I scroll starts. Maybe you can turn off v.redd.it?
