Increase playback speed instead of skipping. Muting still works. As (instantly) skipping doesn't work anymore, but muting still does, how about you increase the playback speed to 10x or something...

Good It is nolonger working (likely due to changes in code, ui, or anything of the sort through youtube's end) as ads aren't getting skipped anymore. mute function is also not working.
